Media Advisory: First Nations Pow Wow for Summer Solstice
  
The City of Toronto's Culture Division is pleased to be part of a partnership
supporting the First Nations Pow Wow celebrating the Summer Solstice and the
gifts of Mother Earth. The Pow Wow will be held on Sunday, June 20.

The Pow Wow is dedicated to honouring youth and inspiring them to embrace the
rich culture of their native heritage, including a strong appreciation of the
natural environment. Guests will have the opportunity to experience traditional
food, dancing and drumming.

Date: Sunday, June 20

Time: 5 a.m. for Sunrise Ceremony
Noon for Grand Entry
The festivities run from noon to 4 p.m.

Location: East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club
100 Galloway Park (Kingston and Galloway Roads)

The East Toronto National Aboriginal Day Committee is supported by the City of
Toronto Culture Division, Toronto Parks and Recreation, East Scarborough Boys
and Girls Club, Nishnawbe Homes Inc., Gabriel Dumont Homes Inc., Native Child
and Family Services of Toronto, Toronto Police Service - Aboriginal
Peacekeeping Unit, National Aboriginal Day, Native Men's Residence - Tumivut
and the local community.
