Mayor David Miller and Councillor Kyle Rae (Ward 27 Toronto Centre-Rosedale)
will be joined by Pride co-chairs Ayse Turak and Fred Pitt in raising the
rainbow flag to kick off Pride Week on June 21.

Date: Monday, June 21

Location: Podium roof, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen

Pride Week is a week-long cultural festival for Toronto's Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender, Two-Spirited and Transsexual community. This is the 24th
annual celebration of Toronto's strong, vibrant and proud community.

With June 21 also being National Aboriginal Day, elder Rob Michano will speak
and the Ode'min Kwe singers will perform. This year also marks the 15th
anniversary of the founding of the Two-Spirited People of the First Nations - a
Toronto-based non-profit organization whose clientele consists of Aboriginal
lesbians and gays in Toronto.
