Toronto Special Events takes home awards

Toronto Special Events - Festivals & Events Ontario, a provincial
association for special events, showcased and recognized the practices of its
members in an annual awards ceremony February 28, 2004. Toronto Special Events
walked away from the FEO Achievement Awards with four major awards for
marketing initiatives.

Taking three of the four awards was one of the nations' premiere winter
festivals, Toronto Winterfest (renamed and repositioned as Toronto's WinterCity
Festival in 2004). The marketing campaign for the 2003 edition of the festival,
which ran February 7, 8 & 9, 2003, was acknowledged for Best Newspaper Insert,
Best Print Ad and for the second time in two years, Best Internet Site. These
award-winning ads, newspaper inserts and internet sites were created by Toronto
Special Events in partnership with the City's Design Services and Web Services.

The fourth award went to the Official Opening Celebration for Yonge-Dundas
Square held on May 30, 2003. The 30 second spot produced by Citytv/CP24 to
promote this free public celebration of Toronto's newest meeting place in the
heart of the city won Best Public Service Announcement.

Toronto Special Events celebrates the city year-round by producing events and
festivals that showcase the best Toronto has to offer in music, art, culture,
sports, food, theatre and spectacle. From the frosty festivities of WinterCity
Festival to the massive merriment of the Celebrate Toronto Street Festival,
Toronto Special Events creates events that get people into the city and onto
the street.
