Overdue water bill notices re-sent due to error
The City of Toronto is advising a small percentage of its water customers that
the overdue notices they recently received are incorrect. Customers who receive
a statement for unpaid water bills, dated December 21, 2004, should disregard
this notice as a corrected statement, which includes a letter of explanation,
has been mailed today.

Due to a technical error during a computer system upgrade, approximately 3,306
notices were sent with wrong amounts, effecting 0.7% of City water customers.
The City mails approximately 1.5 million water bills each year. The overdue
notice is part of the City's practice of mailing customers a reminder to pay
for their water use, if a current water bill is unpaid.

Customers who wish detailed information or clarification can call the Finance
Department's Customer Service representatives at 416-338-4829, from 8:30 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m.
