Weekend Road Closure - Gardiner Expressway

A partial closure of the Gardiner Expressway will take place on Sunday, May 30
in order that the City's Transportation Division can perform road resurfacing
activities.

The westbound Gardiner Expressway will be closed from Carlaw Avenue to
Islington Avenue from 12:01 a.m. to 2 p.m. to enable the first phase of the
resurfacing work to be completed. The second stage of the work will take place
during the Ride for Heart event next weekend.

"By completing the work during the Ride for Heart event, we are able to limit
the closure this weekend and therefore minimize disruption to motorists," said
David Kaufman, General Manager, Transportation Services, Works and Emergency
Services.

Motorists can use Lake Shore Boulevard or The Queensway as an alternate route
this weekend. Westbound traffic on Lake Shore Boulevard West will be diverted
north at Windermere Avenue to access The Queensway. Westbound traffic will be
able to access the westbound Gardiner Expressway at Islington Avenue.

The public is encouraged to use public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient,
alternative choice.

For further information about these closures, check with Transportation
Services' Road Info line at 416-599-9090 or visit the City's Web site at
http://www.toronto.ca/involved.
