Cavalcade of Lights sets Toronto aglow this holiday season

Toronto Special Events - The 38th annual Cavalcade of Lights presented
by Scotiabank sets Toronto aglow with a month-long calendar of spellbinding
events, sparkling lighting displays and one-of-a-kind shopping and dining
experiences in Toronto's picturesque neighborhoods. The winner of two 2003
International Special Events Society Esprit Awards and two International
Festivals and Events Association Pinnacle Awards, Cavalcade of Lights is one of
the city's most stunning collection of free events. Running from November 27 to
December 31, 2004, Cavalcade of Lights captures the snow-kissed magic of
Toronto's holiday season.

Building on decades of holiday tradition in Toronto, audiences are invited to
experience the Cavalcade of Lights First Lighting Celebration in the heart of
the city at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, November 27. This event marks
the premiere lighting of the Cavalcade of Lights Display, which includes the
radiance of 100,000 lights and the city's official Christmas Tree. Live music
will fill revellers with the spirit of the season and a vivid fireworks display
will illuminate Toronto City Hall.

The festivities continue every Saturday evening in December with the Weekends
of Wonder (December 4, 11 and 18), each reprising the explosive pyrotechnic
performance of the First Lighting Celebration. The 22nd annual Designs in Ice
competition runs December 27 through 29 at Yonge-Dundas Square. This popular
all-ages event will showcase the work of Ontario's top ice carvers. Capping off
the calendar of events is the live telecast of Citytv's Traditional New Year's
Eve Bash on Friday, December 31 at Nathan Phillips Square.

For those making Toronto their seasonal holiday destination, the Sheraton
Centre Toronto Hotel is offering a special Cavalcade of Lights package. The
Cavalcade of Lights Fireworks Package includes an outstanding view of Nathan
Phillips Square for the First Lighting Celebration and a full buffet breakfast
for two Bistro on Two, parking and a late check-out time. The Cavalcade of
Lights Fireworks package starts at $195 CDN. To call for inquiries into this
offer, the public can call 1-800-238-5251 (ask for the 'fireworks rate'). Some
