Mayor Miller leads mission to Europe

Mayor David Miller is leading a delegation of 25 business representatives to
Europe to create alliances, acquire best-practice experience, and to further
promote Toronto as a gateway to North America for business, investment and
travel. The delegation will visit the cities of Berlin, Frankfurt, and Milan
from November 14 to 19. Additionally, Mayor Miller will travel to London to
meet with Mayor Ken Livingstone on November 19.

Representatives from the Italian-Canadian and the Canadian-German Chambers of
Commerce and Toronto business leaders will join Mayor David Miller, Deputy
Mayor Joe Pantalone, Councillor Kyle Rae and senior City staff.

Mayor Miller says, "Toronto has much in common with many European cities, but
also much to learn from them. On this mission we intend to observe as much as
possible about business and cultural practices in these cities, and also to
promote Toronto as a great place to invest."

The delegation will meet with a wide variety of business, cultural,
environmental and health-care experts. The mission is organized to stimulate
investment opportunities, and also to foster city- to- city partnerships and
ongoing exchanges of knowledge.
