Trooping of the Colours - Toronto EMS to be honoured by Governor General|

Toronto Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is proud to celebrate the presentation
and consecration of its Queen's Colours, which will be awarded by the Crown
tomorrow at Emergency Services Headquarters.
The honour of trooping the Colours, traditionally reserved for Commonwealth
Military Units, has been bestowed to Toronto EMS and its staff in recognition
of the services rendered to the community at large.
Toronto EMS is the first Emergency Service in Canada to be awarded this honour.
The Colours will be presented by The Honourable James Bartleman, Lieutenant
Governor of Ontario, on behalf of Her Excellency The Honourable Adrienne
Clarkson, Governor General of Canada.

Dignitaries attending tomorrow's ceremony will include Toronto Mayor David
Miller, Honourary Chief of Toronto EMS Major-General Richard Rohmer, Chief
Administrative Officer Shirley Hoy, Works and Emergency Services Acting
Commissioner David Kaufman, as well as a number of other dignitaries from the
City and from EMS organizations across Ontario.
