Mayor Miller kicks off Listening to Toronto sessions tomorrow

The first of seven Listening to Toronto sessions will be held tomorrow morning
in Memorial Hall of North York Civic Centre. The session will be filled to
capacity.

"I am very pleased, but not at all surprised, that the people of Toronto
responded so enthusiastically to our call for public participation in the
budget process," Mayor David Miller said today. "What they tell us at these
sessions, as well as in their e-mail messages and presentations to standing
committees, will be of great value to Council as it makes 2004 budget
decisions."

"This will be the first time the City of Toronto has consulted with
Torontonians before the launch of the budget process. Budget Advisory Committee
Chair David Soknacki, other Councillors and I look forward to hearing what
participants have to say."

Sessions run in different locations across the city through to January 24.
