Media Advisory: City of Toronto hosts 2004 Trillium Garden Awards
  
The annual Toronto Parks and Recreation - East District 2004 Trillium Garden
Awards will be recognizing the community of Scarborough's outstanding front
gardens.

This year, 182 community and commercial gardens were nominated for
consideration. Twenty-nine will receive the 2004 award in recognition of their
outstanding front garden displays and contribution to the beautification of our
community.

The Trillium Gardens Contest is a successful partnership between Toronto Parks
and Recreation, the Agincourt Garden Club and the Scarborough Garden and
Horticultural Society.

Colour photos of the winning gardens will be on display at the ceremony. The
event also features guest speaker Liz Primeau, who has authored several books
on the value and beauty of front gardens.
