Toronto Hydro Crews Restore Power to the Majority of Scarborough, Continue Restoration Efforts Throughout Various Pockets Around the City
Toronto Hydro crews continue to make significant progress restoring power to remaining areas of the City that were affected by power outages as a result of a severe rain storm on the weekend.

Power has been restored to customers in the Scarborough area at Midland Road and St. Clair Avenue East. Power has also been restored to the streetlights at Milliken and Finch and it is estimated the remainder of the customers affected at Milliken and Finch will be restored shortly.

As of approximately 9:00 a.m., Toronto Hydro System Control reports that approximately 700 customers still remain without power as a result of localized outages throughout the City. Toronto Hydro crews have reduced the number significantly, which at its peak totalled 4,200 and will continue to restore power as quickly as possible.

The City of Toronto reminds all residents to refer to the latest edition of 'Our Toronto' newsletter issued last week which includes power outage tips and an emergency planning guide.

Our focus remains on the safe and speedy return of power to all customers. Toronto Hydro reminds residents to exercise caution around downed electrical wires and in areas of the City that are densely populated by large trees.
