Mayor Miller officially opens Agnes Macphail Playground

Mayor David Miller will be joined by Councillor Janet Davis (Ward 31 Beaches-East York), Keiko Nakamura - the Acting CEO of Toronto Community Housing, and members of the community to officially open the Agnes Macphail Playground.

Date: Saturday, June 20
Time: 1 p.m.
Place: 444 Lumsden Ave.

Following the official remarks, there will be a sports demonstration by local youth and performances by children and youth. A five-panel art mural created by area youth will be mounted for the occasion, and a children’s newsletter will be launched at the event.

The Agnes Macphail Playground was made possible through the Partnership Opportunities Legacy Fund. The fund is an initiative established in 2007 when Mayor Miller and City Council committed $13 million in seed funding over a four-year period for investment in the City’s 13 priority neighbourhoods. This investment is intended to leverage equivalent funding from outside partners for youth-focused social and recreational infrastructure projects.
