Special Council Meeting called by Mayor for Friday July 31
  
At 9:30 p.m. this evening, the City of Toronto was advised that City workers in CUPE Local 79 (the City's inside workers) had ratified the tentative agreement reached earlier this week.

As the tentative settlement with CUPE Local 79 has now been ratified by the workers, Toronto Mayor David Miller has called a special meeting of Toronto City Council for July 31 to consider this agreement.

The meeting will take at 9:30 a.m. at Toronto City Hall.

In accordance with §27-28 of Chapter 27 of the City of Toronto Municipal Code, the Mayor has called a special meeting of City Council on Friday, July 31, 2009 in the Council Chamber, Toronto City Hall, for the following purposes, such meeting to start at 9:30 a.m.

1. To consider a report from the City Manager, headed "Results of Negotiations with CUPE Local 79 and TCEU 416".
2. To introduce and enact a confirming by-law for this special meeting.
