City to officially open the Beach Skateboard Park - designed to be a leading destination for skateboarding in Canada
Councillor Sandra Bussin (Ward 32 Beaches-East York), Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30 Toronto-Danforth), Chair of the City of Toronto’s Parks and Environment Committee, and representatives of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation will host an official opening for the skateboard park at Ashbridge’s Bay Park, a 6,500 square meter (70,000 square foot) outdoor facility located on Toronto’s waterfront.

Date: Saturday, October 3

Noon - Open skate
12:30 p.m. - Amateur skate jam with prize handouts
1 p.m. - Official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting
1:30 p.m. (after speeches) - Pro skateboard demo/tricks contest
2:30 p.m. - Band performances
3 p.m. - Best trick contests and awards ceremony

Location: Ashbridge’s Bay Park, northwest corner of Lake Shore Boulevard East and Coxwell Avenue

The event will take place rain or shine.
