Road and sidewalk reconstruction work - St. Clair between Yonge and Bathurst

Road and sidewalk reconstruction work along St. Clair Avenue West from Yonge Street to Bathurst Street will begin today, September 4, and is scheduled for completion in late October.

The work will include replacement of damaged sidewalks, rebuilding existing utility-cut trenches in the pavement, minor adjustments to the pavement grades to ensure a consistent height of the adjacent TTC street car right-of-way, and roadway resurfacing. This work is not part of the St. Clair Avenue West Transit Improvements project.

To minimize the impact on traffic, construction operations will be divided into three zones: Yonge Street to Avenue Road; Avenue Road to Spadina Road; and Spadina Road to Bathurst Street. During road paving work in each zone, traffic will be re-routed and signs posted before the work starts. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times during construction.
