City of Toronto opens Scarborough Village Youth Lounge
Mayor David Miller and local youth will officially open the Scarborough Village Youth Lounge on June 12. In 2006, Mayor Miller committed to investing in new youth-focused social and recreational facilities and other infrastructure improvements in priority neighbourhoods. This project is a result of the City’s Partnership Opportunities Legacy Fund which commits $13 million for the 13 priority neighbourhoods during this term of City Council.

The lounge will provide youth with an enjoyable, innovative and positive place to congregate. The facility offers a three-person computer station for preparing homework, compiling research and performing job searches. A second room offers space for youth-focused games and programs.

Date: Thursday, June 12
Time: 4 p.m.
Location: Scarborough Village Community Centre, 3600 Kingston Rd. (at Markham Rd.)

Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.
