2008 City-wide Garden Contest winners to be announced
  
Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30 Toronto-Danforth), Chair of the Parks and Environment Committee, will join community members, City of Toronto staff and special guest landscape architect Mark Inglis from the firm MMM Group Limited, to announce the winners of this year’s City-wide Garden Contest and recognize all contest participants for their contributions to a clean and beautiful Toronto.

Date: Friday, October 17
Time: Noon to 2 p.m.
Location: Members’ Lounge, City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Each contestant is a category winner in their local garden contest before being nominated for the City-wide Garden Contest where gardens are judged in the following four categories: traditional residential (lawn and garden combination), environmental residential (lawn replaced with plants and/or ground cover), commercial, and community (gardens maintained by community volunteers).

In the past three years, Toronto has won numerous awards for quality, innovation and efficiency in delivering public services.
