Media Advisory: Mayor Miller kicks off Toronto Walking Festival
  
Mayor David Miller will be joined by Councillor Bill Saundercook, Chair of the City’s Pedestrian Committee (Ward 13 Parkdale-High Park), and Councillor Karen Stintz (Ward 16 Eglinton-Lawrence) to kick off the Toronto Walking Festival, a celebration of walking in the city.

Following the Mayor’s remarks, Councillors Saundercook and Stintz will lead participants in a brief tour to see some of the pedestrian enhancements and walking activities that promote walking in Toronto. The tour will highlight the pedestrian priority intersection, Discovery Walks, coordinated street furniture, WalkIntoHealth and other activities and events.

Location: Walk begins at south east corner of Nathan Phillips Square (near Bay St. and Queen St.)
