Christmas tree lighting ceremony officially launches start of festive season in Scarborough
Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker (Ward 38 Scarborough Centre), City of Toronto representatives and members of the public will kick off the holiday season in the Scarborough district with the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Date: Tuesday, December 9
Time: 7:15 p.m.
Location: Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Dr.

Residents are invited to celebrate the season with free outdoor skating (weather permitting), indoor live music provided by the Dr. Norman Bethune Senior Jazz Band, the Cedarbrook Public School Choir and R&B musical artist Jacqueline John. Rounding out the festivities will be the availability of free hot chocolate and cookies, arts and crafts and an opportunity for youngsters (and the young at heart) to have their picture taken with Santa. Admission is free.
