Media Advisory: Toronto celebrates youth employment
Mayor David Miller, Carol Wilding, President and CEO of the Toronto Board of Trade, and Steve Diamond, Chair of PAYE (Partnership to Advance Youth Employment) will join youth participants to celebrate the success of the first year of PAYE.

PAYE is an employer-led initiative, built on a strong partnership between the City, employers and the community. A group of business leaders is actively working with employers to increase access to employment opportunities for youth in Toronto’s priority neighbourhoods by offering jobs with major employers. In 2007 and 2008, more than 100 Toronto youth have been offered employment through this initiative and plans are underway for 2009.
