The event is being organized by Solar Neighbourhoods, a pilot program of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, which offers financial incentives to homeowners in Riverdale for installing solar water heaters.

Date: Saturday, September 20
Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (official remarks: noon; solar neighbourhood tours; 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.)
Location: Jimmie Simpson Park and Recreation Centre, 870 Queen St. E.

The Solar Pool Party will feature workshops on renewable energy and energy efficiency, solar neighbourhood tours of the Riverdale area, children’s activities (making solar s’mores and ice cream in a bag, solar car races, recycling relays, carbon calculators, etc.), pool games in the solar-heated pool and exhibits from solar companies, non-profits and community groups.
