Media Advisory - Festivities mark the 200th anniversary of Gibraltar Point Lighthouse
Councillor Pam McConnell (Ward 28 Toronto Centre-Rosedale) will join Heritage Toronto and the local community to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse at Toronto Island Park. The Gibraltar Point Lighthouse is the oldest existing lighthouse on the Great Lakes and the second oldest existing lighthouse in Canada.

Date: Saturday, July 5
noon - Heritage Toronto tour of Hanlan’s Point starting at Hanlan’s Point Ferry Dock
noon - tour of Toronto Harbour with historian and author Mike Filey aboard the Trillium ferry, starting at the mainland dock
1:30 p.m. - official ceremony and performance by Shadowland Theatre
2:00 p.m. - afternoon tea on the lawn of the Gibraltar Point School for the Arts
Location: Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, Gibraltar Point, southwestern tip of Toronto Island Park
