City recognizes the contributions of community recreation volunteers in the Toronto and East York District
  
Councillor Janet Davis (Ward 31 Beaches-East York), Chair of the Toronto and East York Community Council, will join City of Toronto staff at a reception to recognize the dedication and valuable contributions of parks, forestry and community recreation volunteers in the Toronto and East York District.

Date: Wednesday, November 26
Time: 8 p.m.
Location: Wellesley Community Centre, 495 Sherbourne St.

From participating on advisory councils and reference groups and assisting staff with the delivery of special events and leisure clubs to planting and park clean-ups, volunteers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of parks, forestry and recreation services that provide increased opportunities for residents to get involved in their community. At the reception, awards will be announced for Youth of the Year, Group of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
