Toronto Public Health Re-Opens Food Premise

Toronto Public Health - The Yet Sing Company tofu retailer was re-opened today
after a Toronto Public Health inspector re-inspected the premise. Yet Sing was
closed on March 27.

Toronto Public Health inspectors are members of CUPE local 79 and are currently
on strike. Scheduled restaurant inspections will not be undertaken during the
strike. However, if any of the four food premises currently closed by order
Toronto Public Health are ready to re-open and would like to be re-inspected,
as was the case with the Yet Sing Company, Public Health managers will
re-inspect the premises.

During the strike, Public Health will also provide emergency services where
there is a potential risk to human health. Emergency environmental health
services that continue to be provided include investigation of food poisoning,
food recalls and possible vermin infestations at restaurants and other
settings.
