Toronto Dedicates Parkette in memory of Neighbourhood Child, Joshua Cronkwright

Members of the media are invited to attend the official dedication ceremony for
the Joshua Cronkwright Parkette on Sunday May 7, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony
will take place in the Parkette, located at 502 Dawes Road, between Ferris Road
and Gower Street.

Local Councillors Case Ootes, Jane Pitfield and Michael Prue, representatives
from the Parks and Recreation Division, and members of the Cronkwright family
will plant a tree and unveil a bench in honour of seven year old Joshua
Cronkwright.

Joshua Cronkwright, who died of cancer, was well-known and well-loved
throughout his neighbourhood. He brought together the members of his community
and was instrumental in getting the playground installed and helping to
maintain the park.
