Homelessness takes back seat to artistry
At a special art show and sale beginning Monday, June 19, the Adelaide Women's
Art Studio will exhibit artwork created by women who share histories of
homelessness and inadequate housing. The exhibit will begin with an opening
reception at Metro Hall, 55 John Street, and will continue until June 23.

The Adelaide Women's Art Studio, housed at the Adelaide Women's Resource
Centre, offers a diverse group of women the opportunity to experience a wide
range of challenging and inspiring art and textile activities in a supportive
environment - and a chance to come together as artists to create. The Studio is
operated jointly by the Adelaide Resource Centre for Women, a service provided
by the City of Toronto's Hostel Services, and the Regent Park Community Health
Centre. All proceeds from the sale of artwork will go towards supporting the
artists and the ongoing program.

Program organizers and many of the featured artists will be available for
interviews at the opening reception.

Reception Date: Monday, June 19, 2000
Time: 5:00 p.m.
Location: Rotunda, Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Toronto
Exhibit Dates: June 19 - 23, 2000
