City of Toronto Honoured Childrens Programs
Councillor Olivia Chow, Toronto's Children and Youth Advocate, hosted a
ceremony today to honour 130 programs that provide high quality children and
family services in their community.

"Today's ceremony honoured those programs that go the extra mile for children
and families," said Councillor Chow. "These programs offer a wide variety of
children's services including child care and recreational programs."

Representatives from each of the programs received a Certificate of
Recognition. The programs were nominated by children's services providers and
parent groups in their local communities.

The ceremony concluded Children's Services Month, which was proclaimed by
Toronto City Council from Mother's Day to Father's Day (May 14 to June 18).
This was the fifth annual Children's Services Month.
