City Announces Seven Winners of Neighbourlies Awards
The Neighbourlies Awards recognize seven community projects that help make
Toronto a better place to live, work and play. Established in 1992, the
Neighbourlies have acknowledged the innovative work of over 50 groups covering
a wide range of initiatives. The Awards consist of a commemorative certificate
and a cheque for up to $2,000.

When: Thursday, September 14

Time: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. (The Neighbourlies Awards Ceremony will be held
at 6:30 p.m.)

Where: Rotunda, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West

This year's Neighbourlies also hosts a reunion of previous year's winners and
features a Festival of Community, which includes displays, music and street
theatre, as well as "healthy city buskers", who will gather feedback on ways of
improving public participation in local government. This is also the fifth
event in the series "Building the New City of Toronto: Reflections on Civic
