MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OP - Get ready for the world's first Running of the Moose!
  
What:
The flourish of the matador's cape, the pulse of Spanish music, the screams of
the on-lookers? In a spectacular event guaranteed to rival all fundraising
adventures to date, hundreds of thrill-seekers in search of the ultimate
adrenaline rush put their moose-manoeuvring skills to the test,
racing life-sized moose sculptures, souped-up with all-terrain wheels, down
Bay Street to raise money for United Way.

Who:
Mayor Mel Lastman, George Cohon, Chairman of Moose in the City, hundreds of
'pumped' moose-runners, Spanish musicians, authentic Spanish matadors, emcees
Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson of Royal Canadian Air Farce fame

When:
Thursday, September 7, 2000
11:30 a.m.: Pre-show Entertainment
Noon: Opening Ceremonies with Matador Mayor Mel & George Cohon
12:15 - 2 p.m.: The Race

Where:
Bay Street (between King and Wellington)
Raised camera platforms will be positioned at several locations along the race
course.
Media parking and check-in at South-east corner of King and Bay

Why:
Running of the Moose powered by Labatt Blue is one of the many Moose in the
City's fundraising endeavours. All proceeds benefit United Way.
