Food and Hunger Committee to release its Phase 1 report, "Planting the Seeds"
  
On Monday, June 12, Councillors Pam McConnell (Don River) and Chris
Korwin-Kuczynski (High Park), Co-Chairs of the Food and Hunger Action
Committee, will present "Planting the Seeds," the Phase 1 report of the Food
and Hunger Action Committee.

This report will include information gathered from community consultations, an
inventory of food and hunger related initiatives the City of Toronto is
involved in, and will make recommendations on the next steps to take to ensure
that every Toronto citizen has safe, nutritious, affordable and appropriate
food.

Also speaking will be the following Action Committee members :
Councillor Brad Duguid (Scarborough City Centre), Chair of the Community
Services Committee
Councillor Irene Jones (Lakeshore-Queensway)
Councillor Jane Pitfield (East York)

To demonstrate the types of food initiatives that are already underway across
the city, guests will be invited to sample some typical snacks offered through
the nutrition program at the Toronto District School Board.
