City's ferry services ready to take Dragon Boat 2000 fans to Centre Island
Parks and Recreation Division - Fans heading to this weekend's Toronto
International Dragon Boat Festival have another option as they make their plans
to travel to Centre Island.

Dragon Boat 2000, which will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 11 am to 7 pm
and Sunday, June 25 from 10 am to 6 pm, will attract thousands of visitors to
Centre Island. Last year, a record 120,000 people attended the festival - and
the City's ferry services are ready for even more fans this year.

Besides the City's main ferry service, which operates out of the Mainland Ferry
Docks at the foot of Yonge Street at Queen's Quay, the City is also offering an
additional ferry service from the Portlands to Centre Island.

The Portlands ferry service will run from the Polson Quay Ferry Docks (at the
end of Polson Street, west of Cherry Street) to the Centre Island Ferry Docks
on the Toronto Islands. Portlands ferries will run every 45 minutes from 11:30
a.m. until 6:15 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays all summer.

Tickets for the Portlands ferry can be purchased at The Dock Stop (main patio)
at The Docks waterfront entertainment complex, 11 Polson Street. Parking is
available for $5. Regular ferry rates apply: $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and
students 15-19, $2 for children 2-14, and free for infants under 2 years of age.
