Media Advisory: Toronto Emergency Medical Services Launches New Ambulance Design

Works and Emergency Services --- On December 8, 2000, Toronto Emergency Medical
Services (EMS), formerly Toronto Ambulance Services, will officially launch its
new ambulance design. A graphic identifier promoting the name change and new
look will be featured on all equipment, uniforms and station signage.

EMS' new visual identity enhances the safety, visibility and recognition of the
City's ambulances. Toronto EMS encourages the public to become accustomed to
the new look of its fleet. The design changes will take five years to fully
complete.

Date: December 8, 2000

Time: 11:00 a.m. (45 minutes maximum)

Location: Toronto City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square (east side at foot of ramp)

Photo Opportunity:

City Councillors, along with Toronto EMS senior management, unveil new
ambulance featuring bold design created by City of Toronto's Corporate
Communications Division. The new look features a stylized "A" made from highly
reflective tape, making ambulances more visible at traffic accidents, on
highways and while responding to emergency calls.
