Toronto Dedicates Woodlot in Memory of Long-time Scarborough Politician, Frank Faubert

Members of the media are invited to attend the official dedication ceremony for
the Frank Faubert Memorial Woodlot on Saturday May 6, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. The
ceremony will take place in the Woodlot, off the pathway running south from
Borough Drive to Ellesmere, near Scarborough Civic Centre (150 Borough Drive).

Councillor Bas Balkissoon, Chair of Scarborough Community Council,
representatives from the Parks and Recreation Division, and members of the
Faubert family will unveil a plaque commemorating the contributions of Mr.
Faubert. First elected in 1966, Mr. Faubert served for more than 27 years in
municipal politics. In 1994 he was elected Mayor of Scarborough, a position he
held for three years before becoming a Councillor for the newly amalgamated
City of Toronto.
