Road and Trail Safety Ambassadors host safety event
The City's Road and Trail Safety Ambassadors and the Toronto Cycling Committee
will host a S.P.A.C.E. (Safety, Prevention, Awareness, Courtesy and Education)
event on Wednesday, October 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. on John Street (north of Queen
Street West).

Passing cyclists, motorists, pedestrians, and in-line skaters are invited to
stop for free safety information and tips. Concentrating on the importance of
visibility at night, the message of this event is "see and be seen." Improper
bicycle lighting under the Highway Traffic Act will result in a $30 fine.
Participants will receive free reflective tape courtesy of the Ambassadors and
3M Scotchlite Reflective Material.

The Ambassadors remind people to:
  • Use lights from a half-hour before sunset to a half-hour after sunrise
  • Never travel at night or during periods of low visibility without a white front light, a red rear light or reflector, and white and red reflective tape on your bicycle

The Road and Trail Safety Ambassadors are a team of safety experts who provide
safety information to all road and trail users.

This year's S.P.A.C.E. program is made possible by the support of 3M Scotchlite
Reflective Material.
