City of Toronto to Proclaim May as Taxi Appreciation Month
  
The City of Toronto will proclaim May as Taxi Appreciation Month at an official
launch on Wednesday, May 3, on Nathan Phillips Square at 11:30 a.m.

Representatives from the City of Toronto and the taxicab industry will be on
hand to kick-off the month and a new taxicab industry mascot will be unveiled.

The taxicab industry is an integral part of the City and makes valuable
contributions to its success every day. Taxi Appreciation Month is an
opportunity for the City to recognize these outstanding contributions.

Highlights of Taxi Appreciation Month include the first-ever Toronto Taxi
Roadeo & Festival on Sunday, May 7 at Ontario Place, a TAXIWATCH awards
presentation in the Toronto Council Chamber on Wednesday, May 10 and a Taxi
Appreciation Night dinner on Tuesday, May 30, hosted by the TAXIWATCH Committee.
