TTC Track Reconstruction Continues Along Queen Street West|

Toronto's Works and Emergency Services, in conjunction with the Toronto Transit
Commission, will replace streetcar tracks along Queen Street West from Niagara
Street to Spadina Avenue, beginning July 20 and continuing until August 28,
The project will involve replacing streetcar tracks. Road resurfacing and
local sidewalk repairs will be done in August.
The first area of construction is from Niagara Street to Bathurst Street from
July 20 to August 4. The second area of construction is from Bathurst Street to
Spadina Avenue from August 4 to 28. The intersections at Spadina Avenue and at
Bathurst Street will not be reconstructed as part of this project.
Some re-routing of traffic may take place on side streets for a short period.
Emergency vehicles will be accommodated at all times.
For the duration of the project, streetcar service on Queen Street West will be
re-routed primarily through King Street. Service will resume as construction
is completed in each of the phases. Further changes to TTC services will be
posted on TTC routes and on the TTC's website at www.ttc.ca. Transit route staff will be on-site
to direct passengers and answer questions. Up-to-date service details are also

Westbound lanes on Queen Street will be closed during the construction period
for each phase. The eastbound curb lane will remain open for eastbound traffic
Except for local repairs, sidewalks will not be reconstructed as part of this
project. As a result, pedestrian access, as well as access to businesses, will
be maintained throughout the construction period.
