Media Advisory: Fun in the sun means learning too!
  
The Children's Services Division of Community and Neighbourhood Services is
hosting its fifth annual Fun in the Sun event at Metro Hall. The focus is
keeping children safe in their communities. Children from the Directly Operated
Child Care Centres, ages 5 to 12, will be experiencing a variety of activities
and demonstrations provided by Toronto Police Service, Fire Services, and
Public Health and Animal Control.

Some of the highlights include hands-on woodworking crafts, planting a garden,
interactive computer demonstrations, learning about health issues, and Blinkie,
the talking police car, covering safety rules for children.

Over 200 children a day will be attending the four-day event which is located
both inside the Metro Hall Rotunda and outside in the public square.
