Media Advisory - Mayor Mel Lastman to Hold Media Briefing
  
Mayor Lastman will be holding a media briefing today to discuss the CUPE 79
workers strike.

  • The total Local 79 payroll is $475M (full-time, homes for the aged, part-time and recreation casuals)


  • The City has offered a package worth $35M that includes a 7.4 per cent wage increase. This value of the package is comparable to that accepted by Local 416, the Library and the Police.


  • The following highlights the major elements of the union's latest proposal:
I. Ongoing Costs
  • Job Evaluation & Wage Harmonization
    (includes direct costs, and support costs)
