Youth Profile to be Released

Councillor Olivia Chow, the City's Youth Advocate, will release the Toronto
Youth Profile at a news conference Thursday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 208,
Central Technical School, 725 Bathurst Street.

Joining Councillor Chow at the news conference will be Kevin King, chair of the
Toronto Youth Cabinet and Cabinet members Adrian Johnston and Amelia Phillips.

The two-volume report provides a comprehensive look at the state of youth in
Toronto. As well as statistical information about youth, the profile contains
an overview of the social issues facing young people and the results of a
survey of youth concerns. The report also maps demographic and service
information pertaining to youth.

"The Youth Profile is a rich source of information about the changing situation
of young people in our city," Councillor Chow said, "It will be very useful to
both the City and the community in shaping programs that will meet the needs of
youth."
