Media Advisory: Display Shows Life Through a Child's Eyes

To kick off a weeklong celebration of children's art, 63 children from infants
to age 12 will be honoured at the third annual Art at the Start exhibit. At the
opening reception on Monday, September 25, these children and their family
members will receive mounted copies of their award-winning designs.

These special artists all attend childcare centres directly operated by Toronto
Children's Services. The images are snapshots of the children's lives, very
often allowing the viewer to see life as a child does.

The project began three years ago and included 13 childcare centres. Today,
more than 55
centres submit artwork, and more than 63 children will have their creations on
display. The Art at the Start exhibit will run from Monday, September 25 to
Friday, September 29.

Date: Monday, September 25, 2000
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Rotunda, Metro Hall,
55 John St.
