Interim Property Tax Bills Are In The Mail
  
All City of Toronto 2000 interim property tax bills have now been mailed. The
interim tax bill is the first of two annual tax bills, with the final tax bill
scheduled to be mailed in May 2000. Due dates for the interim tax bill are
March 1st, April 3rd and May 1st, 2000.

Taxes may be paid in person at all Civic Centres and City Hall:
- East York, 850 Coxwell Avenue;
- Etobicoke, 399 The West Mall;
- North York, 5100 Yonge Street;
- Scarborough, 150 Borough Drive;
- York, 2700 Eglinton Avenue West;
- Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street West.

Regular hours are 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Extended hours, from Monday February 14 to
Wednesday March 1, 2000, are 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.. Payment can also be made
at any financial institution, and via telephone and internet banking.

For tax and water inquiries, call (416) 338-4829. TDD users call (416)
392-0719. Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended
hours: Wednesday, January 12 to Friday, March 3rd, 2000, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The City also offers the option of paying property taxes with a Pre-Authorized
Tax Payment Program. This plan allows taxpayers to pay over six or eleven
instalments during the year. The next enrolment deadline is April 1st, 2000,
for final property taxes in 2000. For property owners already on the Six
Instalment - Pre-Authorized Tax Payment Plan, the first three of six payments
are March 1st, April 3rd and May 1st, 2000. For those in the 11 Instalment -
Pre-authorized Tax Payment Plan, the withdrawal date is the 15th of every month
or the nearest business day thereafter, beginning in February 2000.
