Media Advisory: Electric Bike Pilot Project a Solution for Toronto's Gridlock
Members of the media and the public are invited to test drive an efficient,
reliable, economical and emissions-free urban vehicle that is in high demand in
other provinces and around the world. Currently, electric-assisted bikes are
not permitted on Ontario roads.

Moving the Economy (MTE) - a partnership founded by the City of Toronto,
Transportation Options, and Human Resources Development Canada - is launching a
three-month pilot project to evaluate the performance, safety and potential
market of electric-assisted bikes. MTE is implementing this project on Parks'
property with the support and co-operation of the City of Toronto.
