Media Advisory: Mayor Mel Lastman Launches Canada's First Water E-Bill Through EPOST
  
On Wednesday, August 2, 2000, Mayor Mel Lastman will launch Toronto's on-line
water bill, making the City of Toronto the first municipality in Canada to
offer its residents water e-bills.

This project is a partnership between the City of Toronto and EPOST, the
world's first electronic post office. It is the first step in the City's
electronic services initiative. Implementation will be handled by EPOST's
technology partner, internet billing and web development specialist, Optus
Corporation.

Representatives from the City of Toronto, EPOST and Optus Corporation will be
available to discuss the project.

officially activate the new water e-bill service.
