Media Advisory: City of Toronto celebrates re-opening of Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre |  | | | |
Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30 Toronto-Danforth), Chair of the Parks and Environment Committee and representatives from the City of Toronto will join members of the community for the re-opening of Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre with a ribbon cutting, free community swim and light refreshments.
Date: Saturday, September 4
Time: 12 to 2 p.m (official ceremony - 12:15 p.m.)
Location: Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre, 870 Queen St. E.
Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre and Pool had been closed for several months so that major improvements could be made. These include; the replacement of the heating and ventilation systems, new energy-efficient lighting as well as a new pool filtration system.
