City acknowledges contributions of volunteers in Etobicoke York District

Councillor Frances Nunziata (Ward 11 York South-Weston), Chair of the Etobicoke York Community Council, will join City of Toronto staff at a reception to recognize the dedication and valuable contributions of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation volunteers in Etobicoke York District.

Date: Thursday, April 1
Time: 8 p.m.
Location: Weston Golf and Country Club, 50 Saint Phillips Rd.

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of services throughout the city - from participating in advisory councils and reference groups to assisting staff with special events, sports and leisure clubs. These contributions in turn provide increased opportunities for residents to get involved in their community. At the reception, awards will be announced for Youth of the Year, Group of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

This reception is the first of four district-based events to honour Parks, Forestry and Recreation volunteers across Toronto this month.
