Toronto’s Paralympic torchbearers to be announced
  
Adrian Heaps, Chair of the Toronto Community Task Force for the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay (Councillor, Ward 35, Scarborough Southwest), will announce Toronto’s five Community Torchbearers who will take part in the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay on Nathan Phillips Square on Friday, March 5. Toronto has been chosen as one of three communities outside British Columbia to host the Paralympic Flame as part of the 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay.

Date: Saturday, February 20
Time: 3 p.m.
Location: Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St W., near the RBC tent.

Photo opportunity: Councillor Heaps will be available with the five Community Torchbearers during the announcement on Saturday, which is taking place at the CTV Olympic Celebration on Nathan Phillips Square.

The 10-day Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay will begin on March 3 in Ottawa. Torontonians will have the opportunity to cheer for the torchbearers when the 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay visits Toronto on March 5.
