Gardiner Expressway to be closed overnight for road and bridge maintenance work

The Transportation Services Division will be performing bridge rehabilitation work on the Gardiner Expressway from October 7-9. In order to undertake this work safely, two full closures for the Gardiner Expressway will be required.

The closures are as follows:

• The westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway will be closed from Spadina Avenue to the Humber River on Thursday, October 7 at 11 p.m. to Friday, October 8 at 5 a.m. to install deck panels on the bridge at Dunn Avenue.

• The eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway will be closed from the Humber River to Spadina Avenue on Friday, October 8 at 11 p.m. to Saturday, October 9 at 9 a.m. to install deck panels on the bridge at Dunn Avenue.

Alternative routes available for motorists during these closures include the Queensway and Lake Shore Boulevard. Whenever possible, the public is encouraged to consider using public transit as a convenient alternative.
