North York District recreation volunteers to be honoured for their contribution to the community

Councillor Maria Augimeri, Chair of the North York Community Council (Ward 9 York Centre), will join City of Toronto staff at a reception to recognize the dedication and valuable contributions of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation volunteers in the North York District.

Date: Wednesday, April 21
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Toronto Botanical Gardens, 777 Lawrence Ave. E.

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the delivery of community recreation services - from participating in advisory councils and reference groups to assisting staff with special events, sports and leisure clubs. These contributions in turn provide increased opportunities for residents to get involved in their community. At the reception, awards will be announced for Youth of the Year; Group of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
