City renaming parkette in honour of Bennett family
Councillor Bill Saundercook (Ward 13 Parkdale-High Park) and City of Toronto representatives will be joined by members of the public to celebrate the naming of Bennett Park with the unveiling of a park sign. Special guest: Winifred Bennett

Date: Thursday, May 27
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Ceremony: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Former Gothic Parkette, 10 Gothic Ave. (Bloor Street West/High Park Avenue area)

The late Eunice Bennett and her daughter Winifred Bennett were instrumental in saving 50 structurally sound homes that were slated for demolition make way for a proposed 30-storey apartment tower.
