Mayor David Miller launches spring cleanup events
Mayor David Miller will kick off this year’s spring cleanup efforts by Torontonians. On Thursday, April 8, Mayor Miller will be joined by this year’s lead sponsor for these events, GLAD Canada, to encourage all residents and businesses to demonstrate their pride in Toronto by volunteering to pick up litter on April 23 or 24.

Also joining the mayor on April 8 will be TV sponsor CP24 and the founding sponsors of the 20-Minute Makeover - TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, The Home Depot, the Toronto Star, Pizza Pizza, the Toronto Sun, Tim Hortons and McDonald’s.

Date: Thursday, April 8
Time: 12:15 p.m.
Location: Nathan Phillips Square (just north of the fountain), 100 Queen St. W.

The City’s own municipal cleanup operations have already begun, and that continuing work leads into Toronto’s 20-Minute Makeover on Friday, April 23 (2 p.m.) and Mayor David Miller’s Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 24.

The Greater Toronto Area’s annual 20-Minute Makeover on April 23 encourages businesses and residents to participate in local cleanups and to play a part in reducing litter in general.
